On Being Single

A good friend observed that most of our college batchmates are already settled. They are settled in the sense that they are married and have kids. I readily agreed since her observation is definitely true. Just last month, a 31 year old friend invited me to attend her wedding, and guess what, she is one of my few batchmates who got married in her 30s. Most of my batchmates got married in their 20s making me, Lyn Jean, and Drew the batch's spinsters.

At 31, I am still single. I have no boyfriend and not even dating. These conditions may be alarming to some but luckily, for me these conditions are not ( yet ) alarming at all. I enjoy being single. I enjoy the freedom that comes with it. Until when am I going to enjoy my liberty I don't know. Right now my plans are still anchored on being a " single me ". I intend to make the most out of my single blessedness by doing most of the things I can not easily do once I decided to say " I do ".

I want to have a fulfilling career ( hopefully, the year 2010 will lead me to that dream ), spend time with my ageing parents, raise Ponso ( my nephew whom I have considered my own ) well, and reward myself by travelling abroad once every two years. A serious relationship can probably wait ( if God has indeed reserved one for me ) so right now the best thing for me to do is be merry and pray for those who have chosen to be attached forever.

In The Mood For Gathering

It all started with an entry " What is the greatest Asian city for you? ". The question was asked in my favourite website, http://www.tonyleung.info/ and as expected Tony's fans gladly gave their answers. Those who have been to Tokyo chose it as the best Asian city, but those who haven't been there but have gone to Hong Kong chose the latter as their most favourite city. The fans were very happy to choose Hong Kong not only because of its unique charm but especially because it is Tony's city. The fans from Europe and Asia are now contemplating on a gathering to be held in 2011 in time for the premier of Tony's new film, The Grand Master. Just the thought of going to Hong Kong for that get together makes my heart beat faster and the possibility of seeing Tony again wants me to faint to death ha!ha!ha!
I am not sure if I could go to Hong Kong for the event. I had originally intended to visit this year only to find out it is not possible. There are two reasons why I had to delay the trip, the first reason will be part of my next blog entry and the second reason will be revealed in due time.
Thanks for reading!

Hello World! It is my pleasure to share my thoughts and experiences with you. I am not really good in expressing myself in writing ( especially when it is in English ) so please extend your understanding and patience as you read my entries.

Welcome to my blog!
